Jaw pain (TMJ)

Physiotherapy for jaw pain is not something that immediately comes to mind. The area around the jaw is often very sensitive and acupuncture can give good pain relief. Acupuncture can also help to loosen the tight facial muscles, caused by teeth grinding. The neck can often be stiff too, so muscles are released with massage and stretching given to be continued at home.

After the first session Helen felt 80% better immediately and following a total of 3 treatments she had no pain at all.
"I have suffered from TMJ pain jaw has locked and since 1997. I grind my teeth at night on occasions and have woken up with severe pain. The pain has been so bad that I have to resort to soft foods. Despite resorting to painkillers, heat creams and wheat packs my last flare up was so severe I was at my wits end with the constant nagging pain in my jaw. I contacted PremierPhysio and enquired about acupuncture after reading about it on the internet. I have never had acupuncture before but I was willing to give it a try. I had 3 treatments and the pain has never come back since then. I was thrilled with the results from Vicki. I would recommend this to anyone suffering from teeth grinding and TMJ pain. It sorted me out!"
