Staff Profile
Dean Ritchie
Podiatrist – BSc (Hons) MHCPC MCPod

I began my journey into Podiatry at the University of Salford in 2022, building on over a decade of leadership and clinical experience in health and social care. Prior to this, I worked across a range of settings including complex care, children's homes, and older adult services, leading teams and managing safeguarding, risk, and clinical quality. This grounding has deeply informed my commitment to delivering compassionate, equitable podiatric care.
I take pride in demystifying podiatric treatment for my patients – whether I'm performing neurological assessments, biomechanical evaluations, planning nail surgery, or managing wounds. My goal is always to ensure the person in front of me understands their care and feels empowered by it. Whether I'm performing a vascular screen or designing a custom orthotic, I always centre the patient's goals and lived experience in their care. I'm currently furthering my clinical development through a master's degree in Podiatric Sports Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. This specialist training is deepening my knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions and will enhance my ability to support patients in staying active, mobile, and pain-free for longer. It reflects my long-term goal of becoming an advanced MSK practitioner with a strong foundation in evidence-based rehabilitation and maximising patient's potential.
Outside of podiatry, I have a lifelong passion for the creative arts. I originally studied music composition and still enjoy writing and exploring this in my free time. I also find inspiration in photography, walking in nature, and spending time with friends and my partner. Creativity remains a grounding force in my life, offering a balance to clinical work and a reminder of the diverse ways people express themselves and connect.
