Groin strain

Most groin strains we see in clinic are from playing football. Injuries usually recover quickly with early treatment and advice. The temptation tends to be getting back on the pitch too soon!

Physiotherapy involves education on healing timescales and exercise. Your therapist will advise you when you can resume training. Soft tissue massage and taping can aid healing. You will also be given exercises to do at home. If you have a recurrent problem, there may be a reason for this. You will be advised on training technique, balance, stretching and strengthening as appropriate to help prevent another issue. It may be as simple as warming up for 10 minutes, instead of running straight onto the pitch after a day in the office.
"Extremely quick from referral to being seen by a physio. Brilliant support and assistance in helping me after my sporting injury. Thank you."
